Which state do you think has the least red tape, meaning easier to buy a weapon, start a business, get a loan, more relaxed towards weed etc basically a state that doesn't get on your case all the time.
My guess would be Nevada, Colorado and Texas.

Definitely not TX for marijuana. Alaska, Nevada, New Hampshire, and New Mexico are the states that come to mind as having a libertarian streak.

As someone who has lived in both Texas and Colorado, I agree with the above. Texas still has a fairly draconian treatment of marijuana, whereas in Colorado, it's legal of course.
Texas is conservative, Colorado is Libertarian. That said, all the urban areas of Texas are much more liberal than people give credit for. OTOH, in Colorado, all the areas outside Denver and Boulder are much more conservative than many people realize. Guns and hunting are common in both states. I routinely heard and saw people with guns far more often near our place in the mountains of Colorado than I do here in Texas.

Why is South Dakota ranked so high in all these polls?
Because it is!
