Hey, I will likely be graduating high school this year, and I plan on moving to a different city to attend community college. Basically, I want to hear the pros/cons of the cities I list.
I want to be a writer of some sort when I'm older-- specifically a novelist. Therefore, I'd like to live in an artsy city with a lot of culture, but one that's fairly busy with lots of night life and young people. Politically, I'd consider myself more liberal, so I'd like to live in a city that's considered to be blue and somewhat progressive.
Anyways, here's the list of the cities I've been considering (not all are in the U.S.)...

- Boston, MA
- Buffalo, NY
- Minneapolis, MN
- Denver, CO
- Los Angeles, CA
- San Francisco, CA

Hmmm, do you know of any novelists in Buffalo or Ottawa?
Writers and novelists have always gravitated towards cities like New York (think of all the subjects you could write about there!), Boston, San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver.
And, yes, of course, Los Angeles. One of my favorite writers has always had a home there. Gore Vidal. Lots to write about in LA.
Minneapolis is clean and BEAUTIFUL! I've heard it's mostly white though, and you said you were looking for blue. I am also 95% sure it's quite the liberal city though, no guarantees. I've been there a few times and I just become happy every time I'm there.
I would suggest Buffalo actually, especially since a lot of what you are looking for would be completed to the fullest in Buffalo - Somewhat progressive, Best arts community in the world, more young people moving in downtown by the day, friendliest people, And one of the most culture full and ethnic regions of the Nation. Would be perfect for you IMO. That's why I moved here! - And I'm lovin it.
