Like the title says. What does a nice/decent 3bed/2bath apartment cost in your area. Please list the area and square footage also. And I'm not talking about brand new top of the line luxury apartments or old rundown nasty places either. Just nice suburban apartments. Just trying to get an idea of what a place similar to mine would cost in other places around the country.
I'll start. My apartment is 1342 sq ft., nice layout with open concept.Built in the 80s but have been very well taken care of. High ceilings, new carpet, and new appliances w/gas fireplace. Rent is $1190. Originally was $1150 but added extra fees for a dog and a 10x10 basement storage unit. Location is in a nice southwest suburb of Rochester NY. How much would my apartment cost in your area?

In the suburbs of NNJ, a run-of-the-mill 3/2 garden style apartment with the specs and updates you described probably rents for $2800-$3500 depending on which town/school district it's in and how close to a train station it is.
Most 3/2 apartments in Metro Detroit are around $1/sq ft. Maybe $1.20 on the high-end side, .75 cents on the low end. Not many are any older than 25 years and generally all have similar qualities. Average rent seems to be around $1200, maybe $1600 in the more desirable areas (with the square footage generally close to those numbers).
Depends on how far out. I found a 3/2 in Arlington for 2300, almost 1000 sq feet. But Arlington is only 5 miles from DC, so not really burbs. It was one of the cheapest I saw.
In Albuquerque, NM, about the same as Rochester. Maybe a shade less, but you would have unsavory neighbors and flashing lights in the parking lot with a disturbing frequency.
Affluent suburb of Nashville, there are no 3BR in this new building, the only one like it in this town of 40,000, but a 2 BR/2.5 bath unit of 1,200 sq ft is $2,100/month.
I looked on Craigslist listings for the Valley in Los Angeles, it looks like it ranges from $2600 to $5500. Most frequent was around $3500 for OK unit, nothing too fancy.
