I thought Wyoming was impressive. I remember driving through all kinds of red/purple hills in the west part of the state and I don't remember them being marked as being in a park or special area. And obviously you have Yellowstone and the Tetons and many other pretty areas

From where I've driven through or been a passenger--

Anywhere on the Florida coast where you can see sand dunes, the ocean, palm trees, and other subtropical vegetation.

The mountains of eastern Tennessee.

The quaint gentle prairie of Iowa.

The wooded prairie and lakes of Minnesota.

Among pine forests in Oregon, and out into the hilly countryside outside of Salem and up to Silver Creek Falls State Park.

Anywhere east of the Mississippi. Green is my favorite color.

California. Mountains, desert, ocean, farmland etc. Best variety. Huge state. Something for virtually anyone.

In my experience, surprisingly it was Utah. The landscape had me stunned to silence in most places. It was a borderline divine experience.

My top 3 that I've driven through so far in my life (in no particular order):

Nevada
California
Washington

You've really gotta love the scenery out West

Washington between the Pacific Coast and Idaho border has a lots interesting varied landscapes to take in.

I like Arizona south to north along I-17 transitioning from hot desert valley, saguaro covered hillsides, on up into the ponderosa pine forested lands with high mountain peaks then on up into red rock country beyond that.

The back roads and even the interstates in Vermont are tranquil and pretty.

Any state out west is pretty interesting to drive across, I love driving around NM, lots of surreal landscapes.
