Personally, I'm going with Pennsylvania, because its keystone shape is instantly evocative of the Keystone State nickname. Honorable mention to North Dakota, whose name is in the reverse color/background from the number and thus helps it stand out. (South Carolina does this too, but the lettering is too small to be easily legible.)
Uh... Not really. Utah is "the Beehive State," and the beehive is actually a symbol of industry, hard-work and cooperation, all of which are attributes which made the Mormon pioneers' settlements in Utah successful. There are actually images of beehives all over Salt Lake City, but there is no inherent relationship between Mormonism and beehives.
I’ll go with Colorado and South Carolina. Colorado would be my first pick though.
Both have color, and represent themselves well.
