After over a year of searching quietly with minimal press coverage to the selection process, Apple has selected the Greater Austin area as the location of its new campus. The new campus will initially have 5,000 employees which will be expanded to a total of 15,000 when it reaches build-out. This campus at build-out in addition to Apple's current campus already there will amount to 22,000 total employees for Apple in Greater Austin (Austin already has 6,200 Apple employees).

In addition to a new major campus, Apple has also selected San Diego, Seattle, and Culver City (Los Angeles) as the locations for three smaller campuses where Apple will add up to 1,000 jobs at build-out.
