I guess technically the Hoover Dam counts. I think almost everyone has heard of that.

Los Angeles recently tore a famous bridge that was seen in many movies like Fast in Furious, Grease 1, and others called the 6th street viaduct.

The replacement for it is a new ribbon like design. Hopefully it can be in the league of famous American bridges like the last one was sort of.

Famous for that, for sure!

But also famous for being the only bridge over the Puget Sound. The original destroyed bridge was replaced pretty quickly, and a new twin bridge opened in 2007, offering increased capacity.

ARLINGTON MEMORIAL BRIDGE

In my opinion, this is the most beautiful and elegant bridge in America. Designed by McKim, Mead & White, this granite neoclassical arch bridge extends 2,163 feet across the Potomac River and connects Washington, D.C with Arlington County, Virginia.

Specifically, the AMB connects the Lincoln Memorial with Arlington House (Robert E. Lee's home) and was intended to represent the reunification of the North and South following the Civil War. The bridge is beautifully decorated, most notably with monumental statues depicting valor and sacrifice. It opened in 1932.

The most indelible image I have of Arlington Memorial Bridge is that sad day in 1963 when John F. Kennedy's funeral cortege crossed over the bridge on its way to Kennedy's final resting place in Arlington National Cemetery.

Roebling Suspension Bridge, originally known as the Cincinnati-Covington Bridge. It spans the Ohio River between Cincinnati, Ohio and Covington, Kentucky. When opened on December 1, 1866, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world at 1,057 feet main span.
