The cities that seem to be the hardest hit by gun violence is Baltimore and Chicago.

Type in your address and see how gun violence affects your area. This map allows you to pinpoint any city, state or specific address and see shootings within a 1 mile radius of a given address. Very interesting source of information.

There's one a block north of my apartment in downtown Reno. Yeah, from the characters I see hanging around that intersection and the amount of cop cars, that doesn't surprise me.

This map doesn’t show rate; just the number of shootings and gun deaths within a 1 mile radius of a given address. Are you saying that Jackson has more fatal shootings in a square mile radius than Bmore?

There have been 6 shootings, 7 killed and 1 injured within a 1 mile radius of my job in Irving Texas. Also, remember this map includes the 5 year span from 2014-2018; that’s it.

I think something may be off about this map because it shows 966 shootings for the entire city of Los Angeles while there are parts of Chicago where 1,000+ shootings take place within just a one mile radius. I read an article on Los Angeles shootings about a year or two ago and it states that there were over 1,000 shootings in LA so I’m not understanding how this map only recorded 966 in 5 years.

I did the numbers up for Jackson and it can cover the entire cities. So it's a possibility there are a few sq mi of more fatal shootings. People don't know smaller metros as well as the biggest ones. Ex: University Blvd on the Westside Jackson have a homicide(s) yearly or so and shootings yearly. This is roughly 10 block in length.

Idk man, if you look at a given 1 mile radius, Baltimore averages about 200+ killings and 500-600+ shootings. I looked at Jackson and it’s nowhere near that much gun violence as compared to Baltimore.

I mean the per capita on those numbers not in a 1 sq mi radius. Including ratio of fatal shootings to non fatal shootings.

Baltimore have more people in poverty than Jackson's poverty population. Therefore it's going to be more gun violence.
