A few that were exceptional to me, by region:
West: Grand Prismatic Spring, notably both walking on it, and the overlook, etc by Fairy Falls Trail, Yellowstone.
South: Great Smoky Mountains are highly distinctive in general-the Alum Cave/Mount Le Conte Trail is particularly good, though.
Midwest: Mackinac Island, broadly, but esp the water. Having been to quite a few places, still the clearest water I’ve ever seen.
Northeast: Niagara Falls-yeah, maybe not quite as large as Victoria or Iguazu, but still absolutely immense to behold.
Hawaii Volcanoes NP-simply otherworldly
Glacier Bay NP-also unlike most anything, anywhere
Honorable mentions US: Congress Trail, Sequoia NP; Lassen Volcanic/Bumpass Hell Trail is highly underrated; Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain NP, El Yunque Forest PR, and San Francisco Bay Views
Cape Hatteras
California Coastline/Beachfront, especially Big Sur, Monterey, Malibu, Pismo Beach
Death Valley
The View of the Los Angeles Basin from the “Hollywood Sign” or top of Mount Wilson on a clear day
Kauai, HI
Yosemite National Park, CA
Lake Winnipesaukee, NH
Brandywine Valley, PA/DE
Smoky Mountains, TN
Mt. Evans, CO
Grand Canyon, AZ
San Francisco Bay
Disclaimer: haven't yet visited the Pacific NW, but I have a feeling it will be on the list.
There are still a number of ferries crossing the Mississippi and Ohio rivers, which offer relaxing and scenic alternatives to the bridges,
I enjoy driving down Western Avenue in Chicago. Every few blocks, the store-front alphabet changes, going from one ethnic neighborhood to another.
