Taxes mean the most to Americans who have high incomes...except the top 1% since taxes are a tiny portion of their wealth/earnings.

State tax burden is huge to me, due to my income now, and probably for the rest of my life.

I left Georgia due to high taxes (6% state income tax), & moved to Florida. My tax savings are $100k+ in the 7 years since I ditched Georgia.

I'd never live in high tax states like NY, NJ, CA, MA, or any others....no thx.

A lot.

I aim to pay the least taxes possible. Every cent I earn should be mine and mine alone.

MA is not a high tax state. No idea why people think that. It's middle of the pack in total tax burden, around 23-25 depending on the index out of 50. California isin't among the 10 highest either.

Absolutely....the subways so full of criminals, & homeless people, most New Yorkers will not ride them...especially after dark. They also smell of urine. Getting pushed onto the tracks by some mentaly ill nutcase is also a hazzard.

When I was a kid in Brooklyn, we used to see transit police on every platform, and on every train...no more.

So instead you live where you need a car, or even multiple cars. What's the saying about pennies vs. pounds (or dollars)?

... you are 2000x more likely to die in a car on the way to work then you are to die taking public transportation.

You still havent answered two of us on how MA is a high tax state?
