Its all hype! People go there but when they get there they don't know what to do so they empty their wallets out.
its all a scheme to get people there to spend money, aka "tourist trap."
Most tourist places you have to spend money anyway. Its not all hype the things to do and see in the area is worth it.
I absolutely hate Times SQ in NYC and try to avoid it by any means necessary, so I'd probably REALLY hate Tokyo.
Try working there lke I do. It's amazing. People actually try to pass Times Square off as "New York." They spend their whole vacation in Times Square area and claim they know New York and base that on whether or not thjey like the city. People baffle me.

lol I hate it. I hate it. I work in a gift/camera shop because I'm still in school but that means I have to actually deal with tourists up front. They try and start a conversation with me and they talk about how they've spent most of the time in Times Square and yet they're buying an "I Love NY" t-shirt.
times square is ugly, its not ascetically pleasing like tokoys times square, and besides it's only 2 blocks long, and the actually time square screen isn't that tall either.

Stay out of this you troll. Yeah every forum that has to do with new york you are always there trying to bash it with a couple of the same CA members over and over again.
Stay on topic. The only thing that we dont have is a dessert land scape. We have snowboarding closer than you would have to go where you are. We have beaches as well across the east as well.
