Im looking for the cloests southern equivalent to a city like kenosha or racine wisconsin.

is there any city in the south that:

1)is located beside a large lake
2)has a manufacturing base (particularily automobiles)
3)is somewhat moderate in politics
4) is between 90,000 to 200,000 in population
5)is close to a major regional center
6)has a substantially high white population

Since there is nothing quite like the Great Lakes, it will be hard to find a city similar to Racine or Kenosha. I would say that a few cities in the South might be close to what you're looking for:

Richmond, VA
Chattanooga TN
Winston-Salem NC
Durham NC
Birmingham AL
Macon GA
Mobile AL
Columbia SC

Chattanooga is a very good choice. It's not on a lake, but it has a couple of huge TVA lakes very close by, and it has a large river right in the middle of the city. And with Volkswagen building a huge manufacturing plant, it'll soon be home to some car manufacturing.

Yeah, I couldn't really think of any true "lake" cities anywhere that would be similar to the examples. But there are plenty that have a smaller lake or are on a river....so I listed some smaller cities that I'm familiar with that have a decent industrial/manufacturing base.
