Medium income and rent will increase in the next 10 years, since Bushwick seems to be gentrifying.

Overall though we had some of the lowest crime in the borough last year along with the upper West Side and the west village.
I live in the same vicinity as the OP, but within the city proper, Jackson (pop. 176k). Apparently our two areas are significantly different: POPULATION
2,891 Q3 2008 HOUSEHOLDS
1,313 Q3 2008
As far as crime goes, I have lived here a year and have yet to be affected by any or hear of any close by. No one has bars on their doors or windows, and everyone keeps their property looking nice. People stroll all day long, walk their dogs, push strollers, etc. There are some areas not too far away that are not as nice, but it doesn't affect us, even during the current housing crisis. A house just sold down the street that's the same size as mine, and it sold for over $30k more than what I paid for mine.
