Should a Mosque be allowed to be built near "Ground ZERO"(NYC)?That was the topic on tonight's national news.
This is just sad that this question should even need to be answered.America is an inclusive society of people from all over. Why are we holding a whole religion accountable for some fanatics delusional actions? What about the Catholic church with all the charges that its going through with.Should we ban the Catholic Church from building a church near a school?
I don't understand how we could NOT allow it.How could we stand behind the ideology of what America has always meant if we don't?
What do you guys think and why?
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, nor restricting the free practice thereof.." Amendment I of the U.S. Constitution.
Even though extremists in that religion have demonstrated themselves to be vicious and evil towards people who simply disagree with their idealogies.
Still, this is America and we need to move on. The problem is they are not willing to move on. They keep talking about bombing us. See that tool who parked that Nissan Pathfinder in front of Times Square because he wanted to kill us.
Entire nations seem infested with this extremism and the eye of their hate seems fixated on the US, more specifically New York. A city that opens its arms to all the world and gives so much to newcomers. I don't understand how that much acceptance and openness can be repaid by such blind rage.
Hell, they even put out hits on people that say bad things about them. What the bloody hell is that all about?
And they still arent done-but we most of us believe that we need to be on a higher moral ground and Americans are so wonderful in that regard(despite the repugnant actions by our elected officials)
So I expect NYC will once again open its arms and embrace this group with respect and kindness-let's hope they return the favor.
Of course it should be allowed, that's what this country's all about, acceptance, rights, and freedoms.
But, don't you think whoever suggested the idea kinda did it in poor taste? I mean, they had to know some people would be "offended". It's just too close to home for some.

I have mixed emotions on this one so I voted NO. This is kinda like allowing that terrorist to be tried in NYC as a US citizen & given all the rights of an American.
Why not?
I don't think it should be debatable, it's not like these Muslims are associated with Al Qaueda!
