How essiential is weather to where you live? Is it more important then money? I learned that the weather can cause depression, especially in the winter, by being so gloomy. So i'm posing the question...
Does/Would the weather have an effect on where you live? To make this more fair lets say this:
If you live in the north, would you move to the south for 15,000 dollars more a year?

(Not sure if this is a city vs city or a general US topic..?)
I don't mind greyish, gloomy,or foggy weather, I actually love that about SF and a couple other places like London. It is the very snowy cities I don't care for. I am in one now though but for a different reason than money, more important than love? No. But I also know I don't have to be here for that much longer.
Humid weather is something I also don't care for,and in todays economy I think it is easy to see people will move about anywhere for $15,000 more a year. And if the $15,000 was going make a significant impact on my lively hood I would also move just about anywhere, weather aside.
Sunshine is important for mental health & warm temps allow a person to be outdoors daily. I don't think this can be under-estimated & why I love living in SoCal.

I wouldn't move to the South for $150,000 more a year. I love the North, and I truly can't stand the South. No offense to any Southerners.
I love four-season climates, and I crave cold winters. Weeks of below zero temperatures are fine with me. The more snow, the better. I prefer sunny days, but don't mind a cloudy winter. I just can't take year-round summer. It would probably drive me insane.
I hate cold and snowy. I don't need four seasons and I don't long for winter just so I can sit inside me house for the next 5 months. Give me 80's and sunny for the rest of my life everyday. I would move anywhere down south if I could only convince the wifey!

I don't mind cloudy weather but 3+ months of weather that's too cold more most outdoor activities gets me stir crazy. Here in Central Kentucky we have 3 months where the average high is 45 (Dec & Feb) or 40 (Jan) and often the daily highs are below freezing during cold snaps. That's just too cold for too long for my tastes.

This is me exactly! I've got to have four real seasons. And I am absolutely miserable in the hot weather. 75-80 degrees is about my max. Nothing is more important than climate. I would rather be poor and lonely here in the Great Lakes than be wealthy and lots of friends in the south or southwest.
