I know several people are anxiously awaiting the 2010 census.. The first bar on the chart explains what every letter indicates .. I'll run down what a few of the letters mean.. H is the 2000 Census population, K is the 2001 population, T is the April 2010 estimates and U is the July 2010 populations..

Atlanta has too many counties to list so I stopped after 5... I included the MSA and CSA counties for Columbus, Macon, and Savannah..

1. Atlanta July 2009/July 2010

I could be wrong... but if this comes from the population estimates page... it should be clarified these are necessarily preliminary 2010 census numbers, but they are preliminary 2010 population estimate numbers.

Interesting nonetheless.

Remove Long Co. & replace with Jasper Co, SC.

That 260,000 figure for Chatham is pretty accurate. Even with the recession, they never stopped building houses here. Amazing. I think overall, the Savannah metro will show a larger actuate population count than the estimates -- which is rare. Also, I suspect the Census will create a new Savannah-Hilton Head CSA as a result.
