I`ve been searching every post about Saint Simons Island/Brunswick/Sea island and I would like to know what are your thoughts of the area recently. My family now is located in a very cold town and there is an opportunity for us to relocate to your area.We have plans to go there to check the area ourselves and would love to know about rentals available for at least a year before we decide to buy a property. Do you have anyone to recommend? Here are the names I`ve seen pop out on those threads:Ann Dempsey( Hodnett Cooper);Belinda Thomas from ? and Nat Harris from ? .Do you have a preference or anyone else in mind to suggest? We are a couple on our 30`s with a elementary school kid - so a family oriented /kid friendly place is very important to our family. As a mom my main concern is the school system. I read about great schools in Saint Simons but I don't believe(by my research here) we can afford a 3 bedroom place for less than $800 a month for rent. How realistic is to find a place in the island for less than $1.000 a month?Brunswick seems waaaay more affordable but I want to know specific areas that is considered safe and kid friendly. If my final option comes to Brunswick, do you know of a good elementary school there? What about the commute ?How long is ,considering taffic , the drive from Saint Simons to Brunswick/Sea island to Brunswick? And in your opinion , would it be better-considering we want to stay long term-rent in Brunwick for a year and buy a house in Saint Simons or just buy a house in Brunswick(since the high school is there)? What about flood insurance? property taxes?I could really use some updated info to ease my anxiety right now.
