So I doing some research about counties. Now Henry County, GA percent in 2000 was at 14% now in 2010 as at 36% How?

Example:

2000: 2010:

Clayton County, GA 51% to 66%

Douglas County, GA 18% to 39%

Riverdale County, GA 18% 46%

Newton County, GA 22% to 40%

Fayette County, Georgia 12% to 21%

Even though am African American, why the African American counties is increase the counties quickly in Georgia?

Metro Atlanta is one of a few growing centers for middle class AAs. In migration is much greater than out migration. Clayton was the start, the trend has moved across metro Atlanta, but the southern, eastern, and, western counties have been more attractive for AAs. Now the reason those counties are more attractive than the northern arc....that is the question.

I am assuming that you meant Rockdale and not Riverdale County

Relatively cheap compared to the northern suburbs.

Here's an essay that deals with this very topic: Segregation's New Geography: The Atlanta Metro Region, Race, and the Declining Prospects for Upward Mobility | Southern Spaces

My neighborhood is now mostly African-American. Most of the newcomers came from DeKalb and Clayton. It seems that Clayton is getting more Asian-Americans, especially Vietnamese.
