Definitely needed if you were one of the people creeping up I-75 before Irma. I was and it was painful.

US19 could be made into a limited access - sorta like it is now, but with toll booths on exits only. Getting up from Capps to Thomasville to Albany to Cordele on GA300 is pretty nice as it stands - there's no reason to have tolls - unless GA is broke.
Probably barely pays for collecting the tolls from Columbus to Thomasville. I imagine it would be a free road if they upgraded.

We go Columbus - Phenix City to Dothan on US431 never to Thomasville - waste of time and money slowing down.

That sorta depends on where in Florida you're going. You don't get on 431 unless your destination is west of Apalachicola. East of there you take 27 which has never has traffic until you get around Tallahassee.

Depends on where you are going. With Tallahassee or South Florida, Thomasville is better. With Destin, Dothan is better.
