That Apple/Kia rumor was subsequently squashed by both companies a couple days later. There could still be a deal in the works but it's not as close to finalized as the article portrays.

Hmm, maybe it leaked, but it fell through, or something is in the works but not yet finalized.

Default GA business community asks state to suspend unemployment benefits to fill growing number of job openings

Quote:
ATLANTA – Georgia’s business community is asking the state to suspend federal unemployment benefits Congress approved during the coronavirus pandemic to incentivize out-of-work Georgians to fill jobs that are going begging.

In an op-ed released Monday, 14 organizations including the Georgia Chamber of Commerce point to a shortage of workers willing to fill a growing number of job openings.

This is a national problem. Paying people to stay home is ridiculous. Everything is open. Get a job.

No, everything is not open. There are millions of people in my industry alone on furlough from good jobs. Very few are willing to downgrade into part-time servers.

Sorry you are in a bad industry then.... And yes, most things (especially in states with common sense governors) are open.

That's funny, seeing as how we have an idiot for a Governor. And again, no - most office buildings are sitting empty. Millions of women are staying home to care for their families. Many of the open jobs are part-time, you can't live on that. The only solace is that we are light years ahead of where we would be if we hadn't elected Biden. I'm sure you don't acknowledge him as legitimate, however.

Light years in meaning that inflation is rampant, the dollar is losing value, CPI index is exploding, stock market is crashing, gas shortages, unemployment rate went up, dismal jobs report, China aggression grows, Middle East is on fire, crisis at the border, shall I keep going?? It only took Biden 4 months to start the implosion. Yea, he sounds like a swell choice for President lol.

LOL!!!! You really need to turn off Tucker Carlson - or have you already graduated to OAN?

What's next, your endorsement of Marjorie Taylor Greene for Governor? Senator? Just pathetic.
