Anyone know where I can find out what the school taxes are in Cobb county? Is there a website that gives this info? I wasn't able to locate one. I'm not sure if the houses listed on realtor.com and others include the school taxes in their prices.

Thanks,

cj

It's on the County Tax Commissioner's website.

http://www.cobbtax.org/content/pdffiles/08MILL.pdf

"The county Board of Tax Assessors, which is appointed by the county Board of Commissioners, assesses all property for tax purposes. Assessments are by law based upon 40% of the fair market value as of January 1 each year. This assessment is multiplied by the millage rate. If there is an increase in the assessment or the millage rate then there may be an increase in property taxes."

Not in Cobb County. See the Tax Commissioner's website:

Cobb County

"Cobb County School Tax – Homeowners who are 62 years of age on or before January 1 are entitled to exemption from all taxes in the school general and school bond tax categories. You must furnish proof of age when you apply."
