Barbeque - Yellow or Red, what's your area
Both styles of barbeque sauce are prominent in Georgia - yellow, or mustard based, and red, or tomato (ketsup) based. What's the one prominent in your community and which is best.

For Columbus, I would say red. Atlanta, just happy to have BBQ in the city.

Most of the bbq around Atlanta seems to be either tomato or vinegar based. There's one place up by me in Woodstock that has a mustard based sauce, but its one of three they offer- the other being the more typical sauces.

Coming from the upper Midwest where the chain is from, I was quite fond of Famous Dave's BBQ, but sadly they closed their Atlanta locations. Thick, red, yummy sauce.
I think Williamson Bros in Marietta is quite good. Just north of the Big Chicken on Roswell Road. Alabama BBQ, I think, originally. Thin sauce but also red.

Williamson Bros is very good, but my favorite is Sam and Dave's. They have one location in East Cobb (BBQ1) and one on Whitlock (BBQ2) right next door to the government center. I think Sam may have wanted out of the business, because they just changed the signs this week to "Dave Poe's BBQ" but nothing else has changed.
2 kinds of sauce...sweet and tomato based, and spicy and vinegar based.

Columbus...definitely mustard based.
We had a Sonnys BBQ twice over the years and they never made it.
