My boyfriend and I want to move to GA (or SC near the GA line). We love the south, we love the food the culture, the manners people have and the laid back style of living. I grew up on a farm and I would love to move to a small country community but at least within 30 minutes to a metro style area so we can buy food, work, etc.

I show Chihuahuas in AKC Conformation and soon agility. My dogs are my life and I need to make sure I move to an animal friendly area. Would love a farm town!!!!

I am currently a Real Estate Paralegal and would be up for a career change (I'm 28 and I've had this same job since I was 16-so I am dedicated to my work) and I am also an Avon Lady so I'm hoping to eventually make that my full time career so I can spend more time at dog shows.

I don't know much about Georgia as far as small towns just the major areas to visit on vacation!

We plan to move in the next 1-2 years but if we can sooner we will! We want to at least know where to start.

Any suggestions on areas to narrow down to would be greatly appreciated!

Dianna--

I sent a DM---will look for additional FYI.

As I said on your previous thread---I think Suwanee, Buford, Flowery Branch, Dawsonville, Gainesville area and to the east there is Athens, University of GA--excellent veterinary program--our governor'Sonny Perdue' started as a vet, FWIW.

---NW Gwinnett County--Hall County, Dawson County and beyond--all the way to Dahlonega---mountains of Georgia--would work well for you. Rural areas--progressive, conservative--decent, friendly people--and the area will continue to attract employers.
Always a need for those in Law--plenty of business in the courthouses of Ga--real estate is going to pickup--if that is your paralegal speciality...

Woofstock2010 will be held in Suwanee this weekend---all the Dog People and groups--rescue--professional dog people. That is one way to begin networking in the vast world of dogs in Atlanta and GA. Plenty of doglovers>>>>

Star 94's Woofstock in Suwanee, GA at Suwanee Town Center Park on 5/15/10 - OnlineAthens/Athens Banner-Herald

it's been really helpful-now I just have to narrow down some towns to visit outside the city and pick one!
