And that is false. As stated before, within the texts, religion contains the key for peace, unity, and kindness for all in the world. Religious people who are able to resist all temptations lead pure lives, purer than anyone else in the world. The only thing that causes religious people to commit crimes is temptation from Satan.

The bible is chock full of commands to hate others, kill others, slaughter animals, raze cities, and be ignorant. The quran is the same but condensed and militarized.
just because the Christian myth may not be a truth or the mythologies of any other religions for that matter, does NOT mean that there is no after-life, and it does NOT mean that you don't have a soul.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I admire your faith but don't covet it. I can't say definitively that your statements are false nor can I say mine are true. But all things considered, I'll have to go with my instincts. There is proof that radio waves exist, as they are a product of man. There is not a shred of proof that any omniscient deity ever existed, except in some people's minds.
And there is hard evidence, in the form of testimony, that gives the existence of the omniscient deity. In addition, the very way the universe is designed also is evidence for the deity.

Religion and capitalism go hand-in-hand, they've hugged one another all throughout history! Snuffs out the fires of revolution, which, in many cases, would help the poor more than religion.
During this horrid recession that gripped Las Vegas 5 years ago, Spanish-speaking evangelical churches mushroomed within a mile of my house, at one time, in one previously empty shopping center, there were 4 of these, right next door to each other, and 4 more nearby, vying for "business."
Did any of these preachers urge any of these desperate, unemployed people to start up a major protest? Or a revolution?
IMO, the world would be better off without these capitalist-kissing religions! If nothing else, make it illegal to proselityze. I once read, true or not, if you proselityze in India, you go to Jail!
Why is believing in fairy tales, superstitions & imaginary super beings required to do this?
I agree we can be decent good people with a false god or religion. Maybe more education in the past and less being forced to pray would have sorted the worlds ills..... religion is only control of the masses.
