Every two years we are bombarded by ads in every media type urging us to Vote. I heard than in the 2012 Presidential campaign that almost $2,000,000,000.00 was spent on advertising. That was just for the Presidential campaign. Add the cost of other national elections and State and Local offices and the numbers are even larger. This is probably the only way newspapers, Network TV, Radio stations etc. manage to keep their doors open.

I refuse to give money to ANY candidate. If a candidate is worthy of my support I will try to convince my circle of friends and relatives to vote for that candidate or issue. I can probably convince several of those in my circle to vote the way I steer them and it doesn't cost any candidate one thin dime. The flip side to that I will double down on a candidate I really despise. One of the things I hate even more than CORRUPT politicians is a CORRUPT media. There is no way I will ever give any of MY money to be spent on advertising in an election. That includes checking off the box on my ballot asking if I want to donate funds to Federal elections.
