O n some level, I think it sets a standard or level that all women should aspire to in their relationships.
You're kidding, right? I'm all for unregulated porn, and legal prostitution for that matter, but aspiring to do the same sexual acts in my relationships that porn stars do is a whole different story. Porn stars do whatever sex acts because they are paid to do those things, not because they want to do them. Many of those things are not too appetizing (one act I won't mention in particular comes to my mind, and it's one of the most commonly filmed acts), and porn starts themselves aren't too into them. It's a job, and often a quite well paying one.

Spare the faux outrage...the porn industry is a pretty crappy job, I'm not gonna lie but everyone is so hypocritical about it
Good point. We like to get guilty feely about girls being "used" in this industry and forget the clothes were wearing in some cases were made via slavery.

Because now you can get it on your phone and not have to sneak through the curtain at the video rental store or have a masturbating man sit next to you at the X rated theatre.

The STD rates of porn performers were bound to be higher than in the general population. I'd risk it. Criminy. Its not like there isn't compensation. And... what about the Holy Mother of all STD's, you know... HIV. That's the one they can't cure. What is the incidence of HIV relative to the general population? Did they mention that one? Is it higher? Probably. How much higher. Probably way less than for some sectors of the general population that ARE NOT on their way to being millionaires before they are 35. Exploited food workers are exactly that, exploited food workers. Porn performers, female ones at any rate, are at least paid well enough to be in perhaps the same category as pro football players, boxers, heavy equipment operators, oil derrick roughnecks... dangerous work, but...

Never said there would be a LOT of women watching porn (I wouldn't watch it), but yes, I think there would be more if the men were better looking.

Why haven't women been traditional consumers of porn? The reason, I think, has to do with the difference between porn and erotica, and there IS a definite difference. It's not that women don't like depictions of graphic sex, because they absolutely do. Hence the phenomena of the godawful Fifty Shades of Gray books and movie. The incredible popularity of the books certainly isn't due to E.L James' writing talent, I can tell you that. It's because they clearly fulfill a huge demand among women for erotic material, and there are now many other authors doing the same. Women love the stuff.

Though I'm no porn expert (I've rarely watched any), I think most women prefer erotica. It tends to portray a powerful sexual chemistry between the characters, with an unquestionable emotional element in the sex. But the sex IS graphic; believe me. And very frequent. In fact, there's often an all-consuming nature to it in erotica, which I don't think is present in porn. For that reason, I think erotica better speaks to the female sensibility. It captures a sexual-emotional link that is more of a turn-on for women (generally speaking) than is the steady stream of anonymous, detached sex in porn that appeals more to men.

As far as now....iffy. I think we don't see the faces of the good ones and perhaps it may be a function of the flick where the man is suppose to be repulsive.....such as the hedgehog in his later years.

Finally, it is interesting how men change in films. Take Udo Kier. He was such a pretty boy in "The Story of O".........

...........hard to believe this what he became (sweet, in an exotic sort of way).

I'm sorry, TS, but these names (or "plots") mean nothing to me. I confess I've seen too little porn to know what you're talking about.

Don't like porn...don't watch it.
Don't like beer...don't drink it.
Don't like pot...don't smoke it.
Don't like things...don't wear them.

I've seen my share of pron and really can't think of anybody ever getting hurt. Some people argue that they are acting and not enjoying it. Well...same is true in many real world scenarios.

It is difficult to do anything that others will not be offended by. Sex is likely one of the more harmless forms of recreation. I think one guy kind of got his unit broke by some jumping around...

Actually lowers the incidence of rape and thats important.

The idea that most female porn performers make a lot of money is a myth. Your run of the mill performer will be in the business about 6 months to a couple of years. Pay range 500 to 1,000 per set. Once you've done a few films you're considered a stale product. Porn consumers want to see new faces. Then it's back to flipping burgers at McDonalds.

no porn should not be regulated, that would be censorship. like most any business it does have it's abuses. however if you want to watch porn, act in it, or produce it you should be able to.

I do not and would not watch porn. I don't understand why someone would want to see someone eat vomit but I guess that puts me in the minority here. Sad, sad world.

What about these comments: This is Rape Culture | Ex-Pornstars on the Porn Industry and on this one, I did not watch the video clip: https://www.shelleylubben.com/shelle...in-porn-abused

Yes, it is a job but as we all know, in many jobs abuses do take place which has brought about regulations which help some. When I was younger, I ended up on an assembly line until I could find a better job. Between the smell of the food and the dizziness that I had, I could hardly stand up. The Lead was afraid I was going to pass out. I couldn't quit because I had a child to support. I get so tired of hearing that someone should just quit their job if they don't like it. So easy when you aren't the one in that position.

I don't know, "UNION"! It is going to get sicker and sicker. So many people are only concerned about their desires and never think how it impacts others.
