Very well said.

One of the problems that people have is that we will never know what would happened if history had taken a different course.

For instance, regarding this thread, what would have happened to Europe if the United States (and Canada) had not joined with the Europeans in NATO? Would there had been a Soviet invasion that eventually led to WW3 and eventually drew the US in anyway? A good chance there would have.

E. Fully and completely dismantling every nuke it has.

So, basically, the U.S would truly not be as others say an Empire and instead solely focus on itself not getting involved in any way shape or form with anything pas the U.S borders.

Do you think that it would be best for both the U.S and the world?
So stick our heads in the sand and just hope for the best??? wow.

We're not going to get rid of Isis by bombing forces who are opposing them and selling weapons to ISIS backers.

I agree. We may not always do what's right or best, but we have to try.

Pie in the sky nonsense. Nature abhors a vacuum and China and/or Russia, or something far worse would fill in behind us.

A> Putting our own security aside, we are maintaining a good bit of stability in the world.

B> Unconstitutional and stupid.

C> Really stupid. Just because we stop spying doesn't mean others will too. Intel is a key ingredient to peace.

D> We couldn't even begin to do this while eliminating C. How would we know an invader is coming if nobody is watching?

E> MAD has delivered the most peaceful period in human history. Why would we overturn the apple cart?

The OP's post obviously wasn't well thought out.

It means your Standard of Living and Life-Style would decline precipitously to the point that you'd be just a step or step and a half ahead of where Russia it.

But, of course!

There's 4.5 Billion people in the world dying to live like you all do. They won't go to war to get there, but they will worker harder than you all.

No, isolationism isn't good for any country.

I agree with you guys. The OP was not well thought out and no, isolationism isn't good for any countries, most countries anyway.

However, while I disagree with the OP, it is true IMO that the United States is too involved in foreign affairs and not enough in fixing our massive domestic problems. I am not saying we should abandon our allies and stand by and allow nations to start conquering their neighbors. But we need to stop thinking of ourselves of the being the World Policeman. It is time for other nations to do their share.
