When I was driving through downtown W-S, I could of sworn I saw an ampitheater right downtown. Is there one there, and if so, is it used often, and what for? I looked at a few community calendars and did not see it mentioned for any special events.
Yes, it's on Marshall Street, just off 4th Street and next to the Sawtooth Building. I don't know the details, but in summers it's used. They have held the Thursday night summer concert series there in the past few years. They also used to have lunchtime concerts once or twice per week, but that was years ago and I don't know if they still do that since I don't work downtown anymore. I occasionally hear of things going on there but I haven't seen anything recently. I'm sure there will be more going on now that the weather is warming up.
Edit to add: I forgot to mention that the name of it is Winston Square Park, so you should look for that when scanning the events calendars.
Haha, yes, you'd think they would offer up some more exciting photos. FYI, if you go to google images and search on "Winston Square Park" you'll see some more interesting shots.
Why would the city post four pics of an empty site?
Surely they have a few file photo's from some events to use as well...
I don't know...I was thinking that the photos on that site were for the purpose of showing the space for possible rental. I don't get the idea that it was meant to show live shots, but so that someone can see the size and capacity of the park. But I would think they could do both.
