Hi, i'm actually posting this for a friend who is looking to get back into college/finish up their bachelors but they have a first shift job, and are looking for colleges that offer evening degrees/classes and/or online classes. The only one I know of around here is Guilford, but I think they are a bit pricey (not considering the ones like ECPI, DeVry, ect...not that theres anything wrong with them I just dont think these are what he's looking for) and i've heard A&T has some but I don't know much about the school.
Both A&T and UNC-G offer online classes, and I'm sure some evening classes as well. Your friend should contact the schools directly to get the most meaningful and helpful information.
Thats what I had told them but I figured it couldnt hurt to ask for opinions on here, I think he's a little weary of A&T because of some stories he had heard but I know from looking at the schools websites they seem to offer more programs online then UNCG does, but I think UNCG is ranked better (again i'm no expert on this stuff, just told him i'd post the question)
Definitely check out UNCG. Lots of non-traditional students, several very good online programs and the best public part-time MBA in the state (per Businessweek). Not that your friend is looking for an MBA, but an indicator of the quality of the business school.
Winston-Salem State University offers distance learning: Academics - Distance Learning - Distance Learning. There are also undergraduate evening classes offered, but I didn't see a web page specifically addressing that. You'd probably need to look at the pertinent degree program(s) for specifics. WSSU really does cater to non-traditional students: Graduate and Nontraditional Student Services
I didn't include any other private colleges or universities since you seemed to be concerned about cost.
Thanks, I told him to give those 3 schools a call/look online
