Hi everyone!

I'm searching for a neighborhood to buy a home and hoping some folks would please share some ideas that might fit the criteria below in the Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point area. In other words, being in a specific location is not a concern. We are not at the point of hiring a realtor yet. I'm just getting a sense of the area right now and hoping for some neighborhood pointers from the group.

+ Planned community on the medium/large size.
+ Natural areas with trees and/or where builders didn't raze the lots
+ Walking/running trails throughout the community
+ Three bedroom, two bath single family homes (or larger), ranging from 2,000-2,800 square feet
+ Schools are not important
+ Convenient to frequently visited shops such as grocery stores, Target/Walmart, Home Depot/Lowes, workout gyms, etc.

Thanks!!

Older planned neighborhoods have mature trees.

what's your budget? Green Valley in Greensboro meets your criteria.

Lake Jeanette would fit the bill perfectly, check out Northern Shores, builders did a wonderful job of weaving walking trails throughout the community and leaving a lot of wooded areas and natural beauty.

But most of what you describe wanting isn't in the homogenous planned sorts of places.
More like one of the older leafy neighborhoods closer in/to town.
Shopping and services are available everywhere.

Before buying... you need direct personal and somewhat extended experience of the spots you'll hear about.
More than anecdotes or descriptions even if from someone who already lives there.
Cross index to the AirBnB's, the short term furnished sublets, etc. in these spots. Find a few.
Wake up there. Go to sleep there. Poke around on foot/bike from there.
