I am trying to find a Good General Practice Doctor in the Greensboro area. Does anyone here have someone they go to on a regular basis and would recommend?

I did a thread recently on the best doctors in North Carolina 2008
Best Doctors In North Carolina

Best Doctors, which polls physicians nationwide, received record responses for the 2008-09 list. Doctors are asked whom they would choose if they or a member of their family needed a specialist.
Fewer than 5% of North Carolina's 29,000 licensed physicians made the list.

This is the only General Practitioner from Greensboro who made the list

John Griffin | Eagle Internal Medicine at Tannenbaum | Greensboro

Open that link and you will see more in Winston Salem and Jamestown

Those polls are never accurate. I am an RN in the triad and can tell you some on that list I would not take my dog to. Nurses network and we know who the docs with the best bedside manner but horrid skills are and the ones who are skilled but maybe not Mr personality. We generally know who to avoid. Many times I have had a patient say they have the best doc because he is the chief of this or that. All it means being a Chief of staff is they are good at the administrative part of medicine or as with most jobs, it was there turn to serve. It doesn't have a thing to do with skill although some are very skilled, it is just that some are not. the titles mean very little. It is the final outcome that is telling with any doctor you go to and like I said, nurses know who the screw ups are (usually!) Most doctors won't bash another doctor, they will bite off their tongue first which is why anytime you are required to have surgery, pick up the phone, call a surgical nurse on a general surgery or orthopedic floor and ask them if they can recommend a doc. Nurses kniw who shows up pronto when called and who moans & groans about coming in for a patient in the middle of the night.
Private message me if you have questions and I will help if I can!
