United did not add flights. It is the merger of United and Continental. The good thing, United kept all the existing Continental routes out of GSP, even to the soon to die Cleveland hub.

How many people even use the airport?

Every time I've been there( nights or early AM), there couldn't have been more than 50 people there or passing through. Spending $84 Million sounds like a colossal waste of dinero to me for a facility that is so lightly used (and don't tell me the aesthetics are going to make people want to fly into GSP). Besides, fewer and fewer people are even flying these days thanks to the overbearing TSA.

It seems like $84 Million could be better spent elsewhere such as making the roads safer and roads with no lights or breakdown lanes lighter and wider.

About 160,000 people use the airport every month.

Nobody buys your TSA conspiracy business. Passenger traffic at GSP is way up.

And, our roads do not need to be wider.
