I saw a sign in Simpsonville for a group that is trying to build a trail in the Simpsonville/FI area that would eventually attach to the SRT.

They have a facebook page, but I can't find it. I want to give them my support. Does anyone know how to find them on facebook or the web?

Yep, that's the one. Looks like support is not that great, but hopefully more people will become interested in it.

Thanks for the link.

A 2 minute video of the Swamp Rabbit trail just as fall arrives on a rainy day:

Swamp Rabbit Trail in the Fall - YouTube

Some of the bridges are shown near the end.

Where are those bridges at the end of the video? I haven't seen those before, but I've only been on the northern end of the trail.

The bridges are :
  1. (Underpass) - South main street at Riverplace / Falls Park
  2. Newly constructed (< 1 year) bridge in Cleveland Park next to the Major Anderson "air force jet" memorial.
  3. Renovated bridge pair in Cleveland Park - very nice railroad themed artwork and ironwork. Unfortunately only one of the bridge pair shows up clearly in the video.

Another great article about the Swamp Rabbit Trail in the Anderson Independent Mail : Path to Prosperity: Swamp Rabbit Trail offers family recreation, helped revitalize Travelers Rest » Anderson Independent Mail.

Quote:
Who would have guessed in 2007 the impact that an abandoned rail line could have on Greenville and Travelers Rest? The rusty rails and rotted cross ties, almost obliterated by dense vegetation and hardly visible in areas, were silent reminders of busier times. ...
I never get tired of reading these reviews-or walking / riding the trail.

Years and years ago when I lived in Travelers Rest, it was a kind of dumpy little town with nothing to do. When I came back to the area a couple of years ago, TR had been transformed, and I give a lot of credit for that to the SRT. This article just serves to reinforce that belief.
