Well, there was an announcement today regarding the project but it had nothing to do with new tenants sadly: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/gre...its-2012-01-17 Love this info from the article:

An IMPLAN analysis predicts Project ONE will provide 544 direct, indirect and induced temporary jobs during the construction period, and 672 permanent jobs created and retained during operation. Also, over $6.9 million in federal, state and local tax revenues will be generated annually.

Look at the bright side: the tower crane will be up longer. Seriously though, I counted over 30 construction workers just on the roof of level one when I took this pic so they definitely aren't lacking in that department. Oh and that level one roof you see is just for the nine story building. They haven't even started on it for the eleven story building yet.

I know, but this is a long time for 9 stories of building. The apartments on Washington are already on level 4, and they started later.

I'm not a construction expert, but one element of build time is the construction design. One choice is steel frame - just bolt together steel beams in a few days, then fill out the building. Another choice is poured-in-place concrete, like this building. Each floor must be poured and cured. Concrete pours are scheduled from 4:30 AM to 7:30 AM to minimize impact on downtown. They are scheduled to take at least through end of June just for concrete pours.

This building is not a simple rectangle. The shape and its affect on the structural grid adds an additional wrinkle to the production, especially of the first floor. Establishing the first floor generally takes some additional time. After this, it's becomes more of a replication for the floors above...
