Assuming I move to Greenville a few years from now, yes and yes ... eventually.

I'm 65 and am considering Greenville for (semi) retirement about four years from now. As far as I can tell, there are a lot of other people in my generation who are looking at cities in SC for retirement. What Greenville and other communities can count on is a growing number of retired boomers over coming decades ... many of whom will eventually reach an age where they either don't want to drive, or for safety reasons shouldn't drive.

Areas of the country that are prime targets now for retirees should be asking themselves: what will we do 20 years from now when we have a large number of baby boomer geezers like Vasily living here who are potential safety hazards when they get behind the wheel and are refusing to die off quickly due to increasing life spans?

FANTASTIC point! That's just a practical consideration, and something that should be planned for now, not when it's too late.

Yes, one thinks of such things when one is approaching the future geezer category.

Yes on both parts. I love the convienence of my car, however if I can cut down on it's wear and tear and gas cost I would certainly take the bus or train.
