This has become a nightmare! The people that do the lights don't care about their neighbors or how this effects them! The neighborhood just cannot accommodate this anymore! I thought the HOA was suppose to represent all neighbors, but I guess not!!
Yes, this is STILL open, after an HOA vote to discontinue. Our voice in Butler Station must have NO weight! The hundreds of people TRAMPLING through our neighborhood, your trash, and your parking on our streets, and in front of our homes, IS NOT WELCOMED! Please visit Roper Mt. Light, they are more prepared for this traffic flow, and CHARGE!
You didn't say how the neighborhood voted only that there was a vote. If the majority voted to end it then there should be a fine.
We went on a slow nite, not on the weekend, this year and we actually got to get out and walk around the display. I wish more people decorated outside around here then we wouldn't all descend on your neighborhood! Christmas is a season of colors, not white lights! I want to see an entire block participate not 1 house every 2 miles!
Come by my house, we're all lit up! Merry Christmas C-D members!
Is this the house that they were complaing about on the news last night? From what I have heard the HOA voted to keep it not do away with it.
I believe so! I saw a post on Facebook about such a report but I have not watched it. If that is the case, not much OP can do about it. If he/she feels so strongly about it then they should take the time to convince the homeowners to vote no. Anything less than that is asking for defeat. Sounds like he's bitter the vote didn't go his way.
I feel bad for those who live in the neighborhood. I can't imagine how any family with small children can get their kids to sleep at night with all that commotion going on in that neighborhood. Let's face it, houses these days are far from sound proof. I am grateful that no one in my neighborhood goes to such great lengths.
On a different note, we visited Roper Mountain last weekend. It was nice, plus the entrance fee goes to a worthy cause. Can't beat that!

I love the lights, but on Saturday I witnessed exactly what these folks are speaking of. Most of the visitors were respectful of the neighborhood, but many were very rowdy and disrespectful. It is a shame, but a norm for our society.
