Hi my son will be heading to Greenvile SC before us, he has a job located on Pelham Road, on the map its close to the Ruby Tuesdays if that helps.

What are safe good apartments in the area? Read some reviews online but it's a mixed bag.

Looking for one with washer dryers in apartment . . .and a pool/gym.

Thanks.

What do you want to pay? You can live 'in' the city and pay around 1-1.2K or live 6 miles out and pay 850, or a little further out and pay 750.

Check out Thornblade Park Apts. It's a very safe, gated complex off The Parkway, very close to that part of Pelham Rd. They have w/d connections; not sure if any units come with w/d. They have pool and exercise room. We lived there for a few months in 2008. There are several other complexes off The Parkway that have been recommended by others here on C-D.

We'd like to stay around 750 to 900 . . . it won't be for long term, and my preference is just for a very safe community for my kids till I get there.

If you're doing short term then it's going to add a few hundred to your monthly rent depending on exactly how many months the lease is for. You need to call places and get quotes for this.

Laurel Woods is safe and cheap.

If your kids are going to attend public school, you may want to take that aspect of your location into consideration. Maybe try mapping out apartment complexes that interest you, and then going to the Greenville County School District site and putting the address into the school finder.
