I'm considering a job opportunity that would have my family move from New York City to Greenville. My wife is originally from Brazil and has two really good groups of friends in NYC - one mostly Brazilian moms and the mostly American moms (we have two young kids). These City-Data forums are great for finding information on schools, things to do, neighborhoods, etc but I haven't been able to find any information that indicates whether there's much of a Brazilian community in Greenville. Is there any?

Thanks.

There is not many Brazilian families here. That is not to say there are not people from Brazil here there is just not a community of them. I have met a couple and they seem to be here on a student and/or work visas. However, I do not think you will have a problem meeting people here and everyone is accepting of different cultures.

I'd be careful before making that statement. I'm not at all doubting that most people around here are accepting of different cultures, but certainly, it is not true that everyone is accepting. A lot of old school prejudices remain. I hear it from certain individuals at work all the time.
