This number seems to be around the same it has been for some time +/- 2. Any word on when this will increase. Pretty sad you can only fly direct to 13 places out go GSP.

GSP Flies to 18 destinations currently. Over the past few years they've lost MCO and BNA from Southwest cutting those routes due to poor demands and CVG and CLE due to Delta and United shrinking hubs.
Allegiant to:
FLL, PIE, SFB, PGD
American/USairways to:
CLT, DFW, DCA, PHL
Delta to:
ATL, LGA, DTW
Southwest to:
BWI, HOU, MDW
United to:
EWR, IAD, IAH, ORD
There's always rumors about new destinations and/or new airlines but as of now nothing but rumors.
Link? Haven't heard that news and it's not loaded in their flight schedule. They did announce service about 7 years ago from GSP, but then quietly dropped those plans.
I'm just hoping they don't cut back on Southwest flights into and out of GSP any more than they already have. The direct flight from HOU has been a lifesaver for me the last couple years, but it's been cut back to one daily flight at an odd hour; from HOU to GSP now gets in around 11PM, and the return flight to HOU leaves at 6AM. First world problem I know, but not easy when you're traveling with little kids as we do.
Recently, thanks to the Southwest cutbacks, we've had to plan our trips back to the Upstate through ATL, and I despise that airport. Would try Charlotte, but I've found it surprisingly expensive to fly there (as is United directly into GSP).

GSP is only going to have flights to/from hubs. Airlines will not make money from a GSP - Portland, Maine flight. It's much better for flyers because when you fly through hubs, you have many more connections.

This right here. All the big airlines operate predominately as hub and spoke systems. Even Southwest which started as more point to point is becoming more hub based, especially when flying out of smaller airports like GSP. Before the consolidation of airlines started there were more destinations as there were more hubs. Now many hubs like Cincinnati, Cleveland and Memphis are now much smaller, acting more as regional hubs that only serve large cities and smaller airports in the same region. The airlines have found it much better to try to operate at closer to capacity. Flying point to point doesn't work out of small airports because the planes would be very empty.
Oh how I wish this were true! Years ago, maybe 10-12 (?), you could fly direct between GSP and MSP. But I haven't seen that flight available in a long time. It would be extremely handy for us, as MN/upper midwest is where all of my family is.
