Oakdale Shopping Center, located at 700 East Main Street, Duncan, South Carolina 29334-9115, is a retail center in the Town of Duncan in Spartanburg County. It was constructed and opened circa 1993 or 1994 with Winn Dixie #1225 and Revco as tenants.

Winn Dixie #1225: This store was one of Winn Dixie's four Marketplace stores in Spartanburg County. It closed in 2005 when Winn Dixie exited South Carolina. It was occupied briefly by a nightclub, Upscale. The vacated space is 44,000 square feet.

CVS #3928: The store was originally a Revco. It became CVS #3928 after CVS acquired the Revco chain. CVS #3928 closed in March 2014. Its vacated space is 8,400 square feet.

Oakdale Shopping Center does have local restaurants in El Mexicano #1 and House of Pizza and quick service restaurant Subway #11957.

The access road on the side of El Mexicano #1 goes past the retail center. I do not know if there were plans to add a residential community behind the retail center.

I am unaware of any plans to fill the vacancies left behind by Winn Dixie #1225 and CVS #3928. It would not be a bad idea for another supermarket to move in and provide food and pharmacy.

There isn't much out there yet other than the big golf course neighborhood.

River Falls Plantation, the golf community you may be referring to, is in the Poplar Springs trade area. Oakdale Shopping Center serves a different trade area, specifically the towns of Duncan and Lyman and the Startex community.

The incoming Dollar Tree moving into the old CVS location has put up their classic DT green awning across the front of the building this week. No other visible exterior work/signage yet.

I would like to see the former Winn-Dixie #1225 reused. A Walmart Neighborhood Market store may succeed there. I do not know if Walmart has considered opening a Supercenter or Neighborhood Market in the Duncan, Lyman, or Wellford areas.

Yes, many of us here would like to see some sort of grocery store closer by....and a Dairy Queen...(just saying!). In the meantime you either head to the Walmart in Greer on Wade Hampton, the BiLo in Lyman, or drive across 85 away from downtown Duncan and past River Falls to Publix/Ingles, or pick up grocery's while somewhere else in the Upstate. Hopefully the previous tenant (Upscale?) that renovated the old Winn-Dixie spot into several mini sections inside doesn't turn away potential tenants, but I'm guessing a simple gutting of the building and your're good to go again. Several sub divisions have been built over the years in Duncan since Winn-Dixie closed there.

Walmart gutted the former Winn-Dixie #1055 in Greer for Neighborhood Market #4145 (Greer Plaza, 805 West Wade Hampton Boulevard Suite B, Greer, South Carolina 29650-1304). Both Winn-Dixie stores 1225 and 1055 were identical being Marketplace stores. Store 1055 did not have a pharmacy; store 1225 did.

Has anyone heard recently Walmart Neighborhood Market has signed on for Oakdale Shopping Center?
