Westowne is a retail center located in the southwest quadrant of Farr's Bridge Road and West Parker Road in the Greenville/Berea community in Greenville County, South Carolina.
I recall Westowne was initially anchored by the department store Rose's. Rose's would have closed in the the mid-1980's. Its space would be subdivided into supermarket BI-LO #213, 15 Farr's Bridge Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29617-1944. and Big Lots, 17 Farr's Bridge Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29617-1944.
BI-LO #213 replaced BI-LO #68, 412 Sulphur Springs Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29617-1618, around 1989. (BI-LO #68 is now a Goodwill store.) It expanded into a former Rite Aid in 1999 and added a pharmacy department. It became BI-LO #613 in 2001 with Ahold's acquisition of Bruno's, the merging of Bruno's into BI-LO, and BI-LO renumbering its stores to avoid duplication with Bruno's store numbers. BI-LO #613 became
BI-LO #5613 after BI-LO acquired Winn-Dixie and BI-LO stores were renumbered into the 5### range.
Big Lots closed in 2013. It was replaced by Rose's Express.
I have heard both Cash America Pawn and
Auto Zone, 3 Farr's Bridge Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29617-1901, was an Ingle's supermarket from 1980 to 1985. I do not know if this store co-existed or was a predecessor to
Ingle's #74, 6605 White Horse Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29611-2539.
