Spartanburg Motor Lodge is a former hotel located at 800 Charisma Drive, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29303-2063, in the north northeast corner of Charisma Drive and Lone Oak Road in the Spartanburg community in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. It has been condemned for building violations.
It appears Spartanburg Motor Lodge continues to lure criminal activity. I wonder when Spartanburg Motor Lodge will see demolition.

I agree. The longer Spartanburg Motor Lodge remains standing, the longer it remains a haven for criminal activity. At the present, a security fence with barb wire should go up.
Looking at Spartanburg Motor Lodge, I think it was initially a Howard Johnson.
it was a Howard Johnson's a long time ago. And the hotel behind it was a Sheraton Hotel. It needs a good fairy to take it and gut it and turn it into a nice hotel again.

Spartanburg Motor Lodge needs to be demolished. Charisma Drive should be realigned from Business 85 southbound Exit 4B traffic through the property to Lone Oak Road.
I honestly thought that property was condemned. It amazes me that people are actually living there.
That must be like the... What was it down on S Pleasantburg? Wasn't a Days Inn.. Whatever that hotel there was that got condemned earlier this year.. Low income temporary housing or something.
Hard to believe that place is still standing. It's been an eyesore since I commuted that way regularly almost 20 years ago.
It started life in about 1958 as a Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge and Restaurant complex. According to this, it looked to be a pretty nice place in its day, but boy has it fallen hard:
Plus, even if it had, both the county and city are pretty toothless when it comes to residential property violations...can't imagine they do much about the Motor Lodge. BTW, yes, it is a nuisance, eye-sore, and safety hazard!
