Ours is underground- from the street. There was a lot more snow, and a lot more outages in the north county. I saw a lot of trees down on my ride to work. We're on Blue Ridge Electric, and our power rarely goes out, but this was a different story. And yes, we didn't get any more snow after the power went out.
Second is that Laurens Electric Co-Op, while we pay probably 20% more than Duke Power customers.. We do not lose power often. And when we do.. It's for short periods of time. In 12 years being at my current house, I've lost power for more than an hour maybe once or twice.
We've been happy with Duke so far. Had a couple of minor outages usually due to a car hitting a pole somewhere near our sub. But even when the 2016 tornado went right through our sub-division (Simpsonville), we never lost power. Love those underground power lines.

I was living on West Georgia Rd back in 2006 or so when a big ice storm came through. We had no power for 4 or 5 days.
I tried to tell the guys at work that it sounded like it was sleeting about that time here in Fountain Inn, but they didnt believe me.
