Pretty spicy weather this morning! Here in Tigerville, we were directly in line for a potential tornado, but it must have dissipated. Very windy, and about 4" of rain between yesterday and today. We didn't lose power, though. Hope everyone made it through OK.

Bad near Paris Mtn. State Park, but got through it. Looks like our friends in Seneca got the worst of it. Could get very high winds this afternoon.

Got a friend in Oakway, hoping hes OK, but news saying Seneca got hit with a tornado. Cant see much outside ight now but looks like I may have quite a few limbs to clean up tomorrow. Not doing it today. The 11:30 tornado warning for us, and these winds and rain all night pretty much kept me up all night, so Im coming home from work and going to bed!

It didn't help my sleep, that's for sure. I'm feeling it too.

From Clemson/Central area. One of the scariest nights of life! An App woke us up around 330 AM. We turned on news and it said tornado spotted in Clemson and may have hit Seneca's Historic Downtown area. Was heading toward us. The news said 'large tornado' moving very quickly at 65 mph. Very strong winds. I **think** it must have vanished after a two minute touchdown. Phew!

Default Tornado Destruction in Seneca

Seneca, SC around 335 AM. Looks like a big tornado with lots of destruction. In almost 3 decades of living in Clemson area, I have not heard of such a large tornado. Maybe some in Anderson but even there not sure of this large tornado.

RIP to the dead person.

Lord.. What is that a double-disaster area now? Pic of that BorgWarner plant looks like it was pretty well destroyed.

Ya it was very quick! NWS is out determining strength/path and should start reporting wind speeds / path shortly this afternoon.

Let's see...looking at NWS GSP records...only 1 EF3 or higher in Oconee county (1994 North of Walhalla), rest were weaker EF0-2 but only a few really. https://www.weather.gov/gsp/tornado (I think there's a couple missing off this map but a good resource still).

Interesting website. Thanks! Is it valid to assume that the western portions of the Upstate tend to get more storms? I see every summer thunderstorms moving from Oconee to other parts of Upstate. In case of droughts, we in Clemson area say to just go to Walhalla or Seneca northeast Georgia if one is missing rain. Tiki Hut in Seneca gets a lot of storms but they lose their momentum by the time reaching Central or Liberty.

Anyway, that's my personal observation!
