Default Thread Revival! Powdersville or Riverside?

OK, so it has been two years on this thread was started by another with this question and I have come to the same fork in the road. Our kids are in 2nd and 5th grade and we are looking to stay in the district at least until they finish high school. They are currently into swim team, piano, soccer, and karate.

For Powdersville, we are looking at River Reserve.

For Riverside, we are looking at Barrington Park, Glen Abbey, and Hammett Creek.

Any Pro/Con thoughts on Powdersville or Riverside Schools? Area amenities and commutes to schools/shopping/resteraunts/swim team/etc.? How is the commute to the soccer fields? Just let it all out.....you know it is just bottled up inside you and you have to get it out (I hope...).

FYI....I am also keeping an eye on the far north "five forks" area just in case a house of high interest comes on the market.

Thank You,
Last Ohio Winter Andy

From riverside area you would have 2 choices for soccer. Easley Soccer CLub and Tri County. We attend ESC for many different reasons. It is a much bigger facility and they have a great competative program. They play in greenville and around SC, TN in tournaments. Both fiels are within 20 minutes or so from powdersville (depending on locale). Our kids go to Wren and HUnt Meadows. We absolutly love this area and would not move. The other families are wonderful and we feel very welcome. I have friends whose kids go to powdersville and they are happy too. The new high school will be built in a yr or so I believe. I suggest driving through the areas, visit the schools and see how it feels to you. Good Luck!

Did you mean to say, "from the River Reserve area" in Powdersville? I would think the very large Carolina Elite Soccer Academy (CESA) would be the best overall choice in Greenville's Riverside area.

EHS has come a long way in the past few years. I know a number of families who pulled their kids from Riverside and put them at EHS.
