I am relocating to Greenville for work, have narrowed my house hunt to 3 choices, and could use some local advice. I am looking at houses in Carilion, North Main, and Overbrook and am wondering which has the best schools. The schools for each location are:
Carilion: Duncan Chapel Elementary, Berea Middle, Travelers Rest High
North Main: Stone Elementary, League Middle, Greenville High
Overbrook: East North St. Elementary, Greenville Middle, Greenville High
There are many threads in our forum regarding schools. Do a search and see if those schools come up in any of them. You can also view the school's report cards on their websites through the district site Greenville County Schools Online
From what I was told when moving here berea would not be a choice. That was for berea area period. Sorry I can't help more. You can look up gville schools and see how they rate too.

Actually, it really doesn't matter where you live - Greenville schools have school choice. If you don't mind driving your child to school, it is pretty easy to get your child into better schools. I recommend going North. The quality of life around Furman and Travelers Rest is perfect. Not so much traffic, crime or mania. Peace and quiet rule along with easy access to the Swamp Rabbit Trail for exercise. Drive your child to Stone Elementary, League Academy, and Wade Hampton High School (better rating and quality of education than Gville High.)
definitely not Carilion, I have lived near those schools, it just wouldn't be my first choice
