Is Anderson School District One as good as people say? My wife and I are finally able to move to the Greenville area, I will be working in Easley, and we are wondering if that district is the best or do others compare? What makes it so great? We have seen the ratings and test scores but we would like feedback from people who have a personal experience within the area.

We have 2 kids in the district. 1 in middle and 1 in elementry. I must say we are very impressed. We moved almost 2 yrs ago from florida. Comparing the education, and things the schools and teachers/staff do in anderson vs what our friends in Pickens is alot. I am involved in the pto in both schools and can tell the difference from our past schools. A plus is the testing scores. It shows that many of the kids move on to higher education verse just high school. It may not say alot to some but to us it showed the families care about school. That was important to us. We are in Easley Anderson 1 schools. If you want any other questions answered I will help you.

Thanks for responding to my husbands (jgean) thread. We are in Alabama now but planning to move to the upstate next month. We are having such a hard time finding a place to rent in the A1 district! We may have to settle for an apartment initially. Due to the difficulty in finding a rental, I was thinking of broadening our search to include Pickens Co. schools but am not sure. Do you know of a local resource for finding rentals? Maybe there is a website that I haven't discovered...I have looked at Greenvilleonline.com but that didn't really give me much to go on...

You could try IWANNA's Castles & Coves (http://www.greenvilleiwanna.com/viewads/castles_main.aspx - broken link).
