I would use caution when taking advice from anyone called "ga**email" (* is usually a number) since this person has apparently done something wrong and is repeatedly banned from city-data after creating a new profile. Before making any serious decisions, be sure to contact the school district and check the report cards available online. I don't know of any problems at TRHS, but I really don't have firsthand experience there either. I do know that Riverside and Eastside are well regarded, as is Wade Hampton, Mauldin, JL Mann, Greenville, and especially Wren (Anderson District 1).

I'll ditto what Skyliner said on his advice on the schools. The Greer/Taylors area would be the part of the county that is a desirable area to live that is also close to Travelers Rest. Eastside High in Taylors and Riverside High in Greer are both excellent schools.

Marietta is in a beautiful location, but it's an ugly town, IMHO. There's some kind of migrant worker camp (mobile home park) on the north end of town.

Start a thread asking about pre-schools, you stand a better chance of people in the know opening the thread that way.
