Last year I was taking an art class at Tech and had to go to the county museum right before Christmas to do a project. While I was there Andi McDowell and her husband were there. I said "hi" and they responded in kind. I know she's originally from Gaffney, so she was probably back visiting family for Christmas. Edwin McCain still lives here I think and George Hincappie (although I wouldn't call him a celebrity, because he could walk right down Main Street and 99% of the population wouldn't recognize him) resides here. Does anyone know any other celebrities that call the Upstate home? And by home I mean reside here not are from here, like Jesse Jackson, Joanne Woodward, Sam Wyche, etc. Thanks

Andi McDowell has a house in the mountains outside of Asheville.

You forgot Tyler Florence. He is from here and in town farily regularly to see family. Easily one of Food Network's most recognizable stars.

Pam Stone (she played the ladies basketball coach on the 90's sitcom "Coach") lives full-time in Landrum.

Jane Robelot is back living in Greenville and doing stuff on WYFF. She of course was the co-anchor of the national CBS Early Show back in the 90's.

Kevin Garnett is From Mauldin, I think his mother lives in Gville Now.
Loree Jon Jones, former ladies world billiards champion lives in Greer I believe.
Jack Niclaus and his sons have homes on lake Keowee, though not their permenant homes.
There are many famous people from here or the used to live here, but not sure how many are living here now.

On that note, Albert Einstein's son used to live in Greenville years ago, and he (Albert) used to visit fairly regularly. Its fun to follow him because 1) DH & I are HUGE fans and 2) he often tweets pictures of riding in the Greenville area:

If I were his son, I'd introduce myself as "Jack Niclaus' son."
