I used this for DH's funeral. It just showed up in my YouTube feed one day and I loved it immediately. It was well before he died but he was 15 years older and I knew that I wanted to use it in the service. It's been almost 3 years and it's so beautiful it still makes my cry. The four soloists sang it in church.

I'd like to include the "Benedictus" from Mozart's Requiem in mine. We used it in our wedding (it's not particularly funereal) and it was also sung at his funeral.

I also really love this one and I like that it feels happy:

And also my favorite song of all time, just because it would be, well, my funeral.

I like music so I hope it plays a big part in my final services.

And I don't know why sometimes the videos show up and sometimes just the links.

The youtube phone app creates short links: https : / / youtu . be / ...

Only long links show up like videos: https : / / www . youtube . com / ...

A quick solution is to copy&paste the short link in the phone web explorer, it converts to long link. Then copy&paste the long link here.

And in a lighter vein, Robert Powell's Pony Owens

and lighter still, Laura Nyro's And When I Die (Blood, Sweat and Tears cover)

and Steve Goodman's Better Get it While You Can

Whatever my son wants to hear. I'll be dead so I won't care.

I hope that he'd play a Steve Goodman or Gram Parsons tune, but whatever he wants is fine with me.
